Ms. Barb is a Professional Dog Trainer with over 30 years of experience.  An Alumni of Arydith Dog Training, Ms Barb was an apprentice under Judie Howard for two years in Moraga, California.
That is where Barb created Dog Logic, by "thinking like a dog" she can see life through the eyes of a dog, and better understand them.


First thing that Barb teaches her hand raised puppies, is using the crate.  Dogs are den animals, and it's only logical to give them their very own bedroom.  Think about this mindset:  Would you buy a home that did not have any bedrooms?  Where would you sleep?

Crate training begins naturally as the puppies start to leave their Mom and sleep on their own.  Crates are a safe den, a bedroom to call their own.  We believe everyone deserves a safe place to go when it's nap time or dinner time.  The crate does it all.

Grooming is key to training puppies to accept handling.  Accepting the nail trimming and filing of their nails from the beginning, puppies typically accept any grooming related handling whether you brush and comb and trim your pet dog or if you prefer to hire a professional groomer every 3 weeks.  Regardless of your lifestyle, the babies are accustomed to being combed and brushed a lot.  It's like getting a massage, when Ms Barb works with baby puppies, they often fall asleep in her lap as they learn that grooming is a positive experience.

When Ms Barb chooses a puppy for a client, she looks for one that will best match the client's personality.  Of course, planning ahead like this is rare in today's world of electronic communications where you can order it today, and have it tomorrow.

This being said, Ms Barb is always open to acquiring a puppy with no client in mind, but rather chooses an exceptional puppy and trains it for a future client.  This concept started in 2020 during Covid when it seemed everyone wanted a dog, but close contact for dog training was not an option.  Selling a trained young dog was a win/win for getting through Covid while keeping her Dog Logic relevant and up to date.
